Saints’ young centre Harry Mallinder has been added to the shortlist for this year's Anglo-Welsh Cup Breakthrough Player Award.

Begun in 2012 the award has been previously won by the likes of Jack Nowell, Jonny May and Saints’ own Tom Collins with Mallinder is added to the eight-person shortlist for this year’s award.

Open to the best Under-23 players in the Anglo-Welsh Cup the shortlisted players have been decided on by the stat finders at OPTA to have made the biggest impact in the competition so far, with Mallinder being added to the shortlist after his Man of the Match winning performance against Scarlets last weekend.

The winner will be decided by public vote ahead of the Anglo-Welsh Cup Final on Sunday, March 19th at Twickenham Stoop and the winner will receive a Citizen Skyhawk A-T watch and be able to award £1000 worth of kit, supplied by Gilbert, to their grassroots club of choice.

The vote will open shortly on www.new-heroes.com.
