Hewitt happy after positive Season Ticket Holder Forum

The sold-out room heard Hewitt give a presentation reflecting on another successful campaign in 2014/15, look ahead to 2015/16 and update progress regarding the Barwell Stand’s development.

Other speakers included director of rugby Jim Mallinder and new club captain Lee Dickson, before the floor was opened to questions, with topics ranging from support the club gives to girls and women’s rugby to player welfare and plenty in between.

The broad range of questions pleased Hewitt, who said: “it was a very positive evening and I’d like to thank everyone who attended.

“The types of questions that we were asked showed that our supporters have a broad interest in rugby, not just in how the first team does on a Saturday afternoon, and it was good to have some constructive feedback, too.

“Evenings like the Season Ticket Holders’ Forum are very important to the club as it gives us an opportunity to discuss issues and topics face-to-face with our supporters away from the pressures of a match day.

“We are in a positive place as a club, having finished top of the Aviva Premiership table for the first time in our history last May. And over the summer we have developed the north end of the stadium into the Barwell Stand, which has transformed Franklin’s Gardens in just a few months.

“Hopefully last night’s event will set the tone for the season, and we can now turn our attention to starting the Aviva Premiership campaign in mid-October.”
