After winning the gong for Best Community Programme at the 2012 Sports Industry Awards, last night Hitz was given a Gold award at last night's Corporate Engagement Awards, beating G4S's 4teen Programme and Coca Cola's Future Flames.
Premiership Rugby's partnerships in the Hitz programme were lauded for their work in inspiring young people in the toughest inner city areas into finding new paths into a better life. Hitz targets young people at risk of anti-social behaviour and exclusion from school and uses rugby to build confidence and respect.
Here in Northampton the Saints are working with Premiership Rugby, Wooden Spoon and YMCA Training to identify training programmes and educational opportunities which will help the participants develop themselves in a structured, inspiring environment.
