James Ramm named cinch Player of the Month for January

Northampton Saints’ James Ramm has been named the cinch Player of the Month for January, with the winger’s impressive performances in Black, Green and Gold throughout the month seeing him claim the overwhelming majority of the supporter vote.

Northampton’s five outings across January – where Saints faced Harlequins, Exeter Chiefs and Leicester Tigers in the Gallagher Premiership, as well as Munster Rugby and Stade Rochelais in the Heineken Champions Cup – were taken into account this month.

And it was 24-year-old Ramm who won some 76% of the January vote to claim back-to-back trophies (having also won the gong in December) as he edged out fellow nominees Lewis Ludlam, Alex Moon and David Ribbans.

The Australian winger shone in attack for Saints’ backs, claiming a Man-of-the-Match award at Leicester and a nomination to Premiership Rugby’s Player of the Month award for his league efforts in January, as well as scoring two tries against Harlequins and another at Thomond Park.

Throughout the season, cinch will also be offering up a range of prizes for those who vote for the award, with one lucky supporter each month selected at random after voting closes.

This month’s winner was Frank Hodgson, who was selected at random out of over 500 supporters who voted on the cinch Player of the Month award to win £50 worth of Saints Store vouchers.
