Lawes not fazed by underdogs tag

The Northampton-born second row is convinced that, just as they did in their fine semi-final win at Saracens, the Saints can front up to any side when on form.

"We've got so many talented players in our team that if we turn up and perform, we're hard to stop," Lawes told SaintsTV. "The commentators have said that and we proved at Saracens that we can be a handful for anyone."

Richard Cockerill's side, appearing in an unprecedented ninth consecutive final, have had the better of each of the last seven meetings between the sides but with five of the last eight Tigers-Saints meetings settled by eight points or less, Lawes is predicting another tight affair and with good reason, too.

"Both sides have very similar setups and similar teams and we're perhaps only underdogs due to Leicester's consistency throughout the season. It's a one off game though and I certainly see that if we come out and play to our full potential that it will be a very close game.
