Tom Litchfield and Edoardo Todaro were the big winners at Northampton Saints’ 2025/26 Season Awards Dinner as they claimed the Club’s most prestigious prizes – while Archie McParland also took home two of the other gongs at Tuesday evening’s ceremony.
Litchfield was named QLM Search Players’ Player of the Season having enjoyed an eye-catching campaign so far, scoring six tries in 20 appearances across all competitions.
The 24-year-old Saints Academy graduate really hit his straps in March, scoring against Exeter Chiefs, Newcastle Red Bulls and Saracens – a match which he also provided the offload assist for Archie McParland’s late winner at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
His season has been blessed with highlight reel moments, including the late match-winner against Gloucester at Kingsholm Stadium way back in October – and Litchfield has become a near constant-presence in Saints’ matchday squad, proving equally impactful in midfield and on the wing.
“It is massive to get the recognition of your peers,” Litchfield said. “For me, it feels like the biggest accolade, so I am very pleased to get this award. I was very surprised, it was an amazing feeling.
“So many people have had great seasons. My vote went for Chicky [Callum Chick]. I thought he’s had a great year, very consistent and he has had a huge impact on our team.
The 2025/26 Season Awards Dinner – presented by GRS Group and hosted by David Flatman – saw Saints roll out the red carpet for 700 people to attend a black-tie dinner at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens.
Another Saints Academy graduate who had a flying start to the this season was Italian winger Todaro, and his performances were rewarded as he picked up the cinch Supporters’ Player of the Season.
The 19-year-old scored twice on his Gallagher PREM debut against Exeter Chiefs and he would race to a half century of points in just 13 senior games, including a hat-trick of Investec Champions Cup scores against Scarlets in January – a month which saw him win the cinch Player of the Month award at Saints.
Todaro won the league’s Player of the Month back in October, and he has also been shortlisted for the Breakthrough Player of the Season in The Rugby Awards.
That electric try-scoring form saw him earn his first senior international cap for the Azzurri last Autumn, and he was destined to add more caps to his tally at the 2026 Guinness Men’s Six Nations, only for an ACL rupture to cruelly end his season before the tournament commenced.
He said: “It is amazing because I wasn’t expecting it. To get my name read out, I was definitely overwhelmed. I’d like to thank all the fans for voting for me. I am really, really happy to win this award.
“When you don’t play for a while, you think can I still do that, was that really me? When you’re playing you’re just in the moment, you are doing the things you’ve been doing your whole life. When you lose that, you appreciate more what you’ve done in the past.
“Rehab is going well, I am on track. Hopefully I will be back for the start of next season, I am enjoying rehab and getting stuck into it.”
Young scrum-half McParland was twice up on the stage on Tuesday evening, collecting the Michael Jones Jeweller Breakthrough Player of the Season and GRAF UK Young Player of the Season prizes.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable campaign in which he has already scored 13 tries in 23 games to date, received his first senior England call-up alongside eight of this Saints teammates at their most recent training camp, and has also been nominated for Breakthrough Player of the Season in The Rugby Awards.
He said: “I am so proud to win these awards. I have worked so hard. Last season was a pretty tough one for me in terms of injuries, and setbacks. I worked really hard with the physios and on my skills with the coaches. To be able to put my best foot forward to show the fans, the players, and myself, what level I can play at has been great.
“To be able to pick up these two awards is great and it is a real confidence booster for me. I want to keep on improving.
“There is still so much to play for this season. Winning the PREM is at the front of our minds and with England coming up in the summer, that is a massive goal of mine too. Hopefully I make it, but for now it’s full focus on the PREM and doing my best for Saints.”
A fourth Academy graduate, second row Prowse, won the coveted Elite Safety Training & Rescue Coaches’ Player of the Season, having become a mainstay in Saints squads this season, featuring in 25 of their 33 games in all competitions this season.
Having bagged two awards in his first season as a Saint last term (Players’ Player and Coaches’ Player), Josh Kemeny was amongst the honours once more the second time around, as his remarkable effort against Sale Sharks at cinch Stadium in December was chosen as the Wentworth Alexander Try of the Season.
With a return of 18 tries from 17 Saints games so far this season, it was little surprise that Tommy Freeman walked away with some silverware. The England international and British and Irish Lions tourist earned the BC Workspace Moment of the Season for his scintillating hat-trick against Bath at The Rec in December.
