ACTION PREVIEW This is the first time that the Saints and Sale have met in European competition. The Saints reached the Amlin Challenge Cup by virtue of being one of the three Heineken Cup runners-up to qualify for the knockout stages, while Sale finished top of a pool that included Biarritz, Oyonnax and Worcester, winning five of their six matches
The Amlin Challenge Cup has been a good tournament for the clubs, who have both lifted the trophy – Sale in 2002 and 2005, and the Saints in 2009. The Sharks have won 28 of their 33 home games played in the competition, while the Saints won all nine of their games in 2008/09
The biggest point of interest will come at the breakdown. No side conceded fewer turnovers in the group stages than Sale (3.2 per game on average), but no side scored more after stealing opposition ball than the Saints, with five of the 11 tries scored in the Heineken Cup pool stages coming after turnovers

PARK AND RIDE Sale Sharks have a free park and ride service from the Trafford Centre, with buses leaving the centre’s bus station (Point 4) at 6:00pm, 6:30pm and 7:00pm, with return services at 10:00pm and 10:30pm, depending on demand
There are public bus services from the Trafford Centre available, with the 100 and 67 First Bus services both stopping close to the AJ Bell Stadium
