Saturday’s European Rugby Champions Cup game against Montpellier will be preceded by a minute’s applause to honour the memory of Dickie Jeeps.
The Saints, England and British and Irish Lions legend passed away last weekend. A member of the club’s Hall of Fame, Jeeps played nearly 300 times in black, green and gold, captained England 13 times out of his 24 total caps, and toured with the British and Irish Lions three times, playing in 13 Tests, the second highest total in history.
There is a full obituary in Saturday’s match programme, and former Saint and current stadium match announcer Geoff Allen describes what it was like partnership Jeeps at half-back in this week’s official podcast.
