History returns to Franklin’s Gardens tonight as Saints take on the British Army in the 2018 Mobbs Memorial Match. Here’s everything you need to know about the evening…
Proceeds from the Mobbs Memorial Match support the charitable aims of the Mobbs Memorial Trust, which makes much-needed donations to junior clubs in the East Midlands. As such entry into the game is NOT included in the 2017/18 Season Ticket package.
Tickets are £15 for adults and £5 for juniors, concessions and Armed Forces personnel and veterans.
They can be booked in advance at bit.ly/Mobbs-2018 but tickets will also be available on the gate. The Saints Ticket Office is open now.
TWO GAMES, ONE TICKET
The Mobbs Memorial Match will be preceded by a game between Welbeck Defence Sixth Form College and Bedford Modern School, which will kick off on Pitch 1 at 5pm.
The stadium open at 6pm. Seating is unreserved, with supporters able to watch from either the Tetley’s Stand.
Car parking is in Car Parks A, B & C, which open at 4pm.
PRE-MATCH ENTERTAINMENT AND WREATH LAYING
There will be a performance on the main pitch from The Band and Bugles of the Rifles, who will also play during the half-time interval.
As is customary, wreaths will be laid on the Franklin’s Gardens war memorial and the National Anthem will be played by The Band and Bugles of the Rifles immediately before kick off, so supporters are asked to be in their seats or terrace spaces no later than 7:40pm.
PAYING RESPECTS IN ABINGTON SQUARE
Edgar Mobbs is a figure who is remembered across Northampton, and at 4:30pm a wreath will be laid on the Mobbs statue on Abington Square in the heart of the town.
All intending to attend should be at this location some 10-to-15 minutes beforehand.
