Northampton Saints’ Industrial Placements for the 2025/26 season are now open for applications.
The Club’s year-long Industrial Placements offer exciting opportunities for students looking to gain valuable experience and develop their skills within an elite sporting organisation during their placement years away from University.
Running from the summer of 2025 to the end of the 2025/26 season, Saints have vacancies across our marketing and communications, community, operations, finance, sustainability, women’s rugby, and events departments – as well as a new summer-long placement focused on the successful delivery of the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup.
“We’re very proud of the valuable opportunities and experience we are able to offer University students who are looking to undertake a ‘year in the industry’ as part of their degree,” said Sara Young, Chief Operating Officer at Northampton Saints.
“Applying what they have learned so far during their studies and developing their skills further within the fast-paced, ever-changing and exciting landscape of a professional sports organisation puts our Industrial Placement students in a fantastic position for success as they complete their degrees, and then look for full-time roles upon their graduation.
“We’ve had some fantastic participants over the last few years who have not only made huge contribution to the Club’s success, on and off the pitch, but have gone on to achieve great academic results and secure superb full-time roles – both inside and outside of professional sport.”
Sara Young, Chief Operating Officer at Northampton Saints
“Our Industrial Placement students become part of the family here at Saints and forge long-term professional connections and personal friendships too. So, if you are currently seeking a year-long placement away from university as part of your degree, we would love to hear from you!”

CASE STUDY:
Tabitha Banks completed her Industrial Placement within Saints’ community department during the 2021/22 season.
Upon her return to Loughborough University, she achieved first-class honours in her Geography and Sports Science degree, before spending a year travelling and eventually returning to Saints in the summer of 2024 as the Club’s full-time Women’s and Girls Rugby Development Officer.
“I loved every minute of my placement year at Saints,” she said. “The opportunity to experience a full-time role within professional sport, and for me personally women’s sport, really made it clear that was the direction I wanted to follow in my career.
“Saints is an organisation where you naturally gain experience working across a number of different departments and projects, as everyone supports each other and works really collaboratively.
“My placement year gave me a sense of what working in the real world is like. It’s eye-opening going into a full-time job for the first time, and actually learning the discipline of working a ‘nine-to-five’ helped me massively on returning to University for my final year.
“I definitely benefitted from the skills and experience from my placement when it came to finishing off my degree, as I ended up moving my final grade from a 2:1 to a First, and I was delighted to return to a full-time role here earlier this year.”
