Premiership Rugby Singha Sevens Series returning to the Gardens

Rugby will be back at Franklin’s Gardens before you know it, following today’s announcement by Premiership Rugby that Northampton will host one of the legs of this year’s Singha Sevens Series.

The Saints will take on Gloucester, Harlequins and Saracens on Friday, July 29th as the season’s curtain raiser tournament enters its seventh season.

This will be the fourth time that Franklin’s Gardens will have hosted a leg of the series, and both the Saints and Premiership Rugby will be looking to better the 11,000-plus crowd that attended the event in 2014.

Tickets are now on sale at www.northamptonsaints.co.uk/buytickets for £12 (adults) and £6 (juniors and concessions), and Season Ticket Holders who have already renewed or who do so before the end of May will receive 50 percent off tickets they order by June 5th.

There are four legs in total, the first between the Welsh regions at Cardiff Arms Park on Friday, July 22nd, with the Aviva Premiership clubs split into three tournaments at Exeter’s Sandy Park (Saturday, July 23rd), Franklin’s Gardens and Kingston Park in Newcastle (Saturday, July 30th).

The winners and runners-up from each leg will then head to the Ricoh Arena for Finals Day on Saturday, August 6th.

This year will be the biggest in the history of Rugby Sevens, with the sport reaching more people than ever in the build-up to its debut at the Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro in August.

In previous years the Saints coaches have given youth its chance to shine in the Singha Premiership Rugby Sevens Series with the likes of Teimana Harrison, Harry Mallinder, Tom Collins, Tom Stephenson, Ben Nutley, Mikey Haywood and Jamie Elliott all having featured in the competition since its inception in 2010.

Last year’s squad included age group internationals like Sam Olver (England) and Rory Hutchinson (Scotland) and this July will give you a chance to see the club’s future in action!
