Dickson: Ambitious Saints must beat Gloucester

Saints captain Lee Dickson says that the last game of the season is a must-win match, as his side travel to Kingsholm to play Gloucester on Saturday.

Speaking to SaintsTV, the scrum half said: “It’s going to be huge; we need to win.

“We have to win to stay in the top six and be in Europe next year. That’s where this club wants to be and it’s an ambitious club.”

With Harlequins in the Challenge Cup final, Gloucester are aiming for seventh in the league to keep alive their Champions Cup goal for next season. Both sides therefore have their European hopes at stake, and Dickson believes that Gloucester will be tough opposition in their own back yard.

“Both teams have got everything to play for,” said Dickson. “They’re at home so they won’t want to go out with a disappointing end to the season in front of their fans.

“We know they’ll be coming all guns blazing so we’ve got to go down and match that.”

“Hopefully the sun will be shining and we can get out there and throw the ball around.”
