Fiji Airways Flying Fijians have today announced a wider training group ahead of their upcoming Pacific Test Series, with Northampton Saints' Api Ratuniyarawa included within the 38-man squad.
The series, which incorporates a pair of matches against the Maori All Blacks as well as the Pacific Nations Cup, takes place prior to Fiji head coach John McKee selecting his squad for the World Cup in Japan later this year.
The 32-year-old lock has donned the Black, Green and Gold jersey 26 times already this season and will convene with the squad on 1 July ahead of their first fixture against Maori All Blacks before the return fixture on 20 July.
Mckee said: “It is very pleasing for me to see so many players getting games at their various European clubs.
“Their seasons are now closing down so we hope to see them back into Fiji from next week.
“Now is the time, with all planning in place, I am really looking forward to getting into camp with the players from 1 July.
“We know we have a lot of work to do between our assembly and travelling to Japan for our first game against Australia in the Rugby World Cup.”
