Match day tournaments are one of the most popular features of a day at Franklin’s Gardens, with hundreds of young rugby players packing the training pitches at the home of the Saints to battle it out against their peers from across the East of England and beyond.
The winners and runners-up from each tournament also have the privilege of receiving their trophies and medals on the main pitch during the half-time interval of that day’s Saints game.
The season starts with the Under-9s tournament, which this year will be played at Emerson Valley, home of Milton Keynes RFC, due to that day’s Saints game against Newcastle having been moved to stadiummk.
The Under-14s will then kick off the programme of tournaments at Franklin’s Gardens before the Aviva Premiership clash with Saracens, which itself will be the first game to be played in front of the new Barwell Stand. Further tournaments will take place for remaining age groups between Under-7 and Under-13; full details can be seen in the table below.
Match day tournaments also include the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup, which gives Under-11 and Under-12 teams the chance to represent the Saints in the Parade of Champions at the 2016 Aviva Premiership Final at Twickenham.
