Saints announce pre-season fixtures

The Saints will be reprising last summer's matches with Leinster and Edinburgh as well as facing off against two Championship sides.

The pre-season gets underway on Friday, August 16th with the short trip down the A428 to Goldington Road, where the Saints will play Bedford Blues.

The following Thursday will be another away game, this time at Moseley, with Edinburgh travelling to Franklin's Gardens the evening after - this game will be included in the 2013/14 Season Ticket package.

Finally, the Saints will head to Dublin to play Leinster on Friday, August 30th.

Director of rugby Jim Mallinder says that the pre-season will be a good test for the Saints.

"We always want to make sure we are in the best possible shape for the start of the season, and these matches will help us do that," he commented. "Leinster and Edinburgh have some of the best players in Ireland and Scotland in their squads, while Bedford have been at the top of The Championship for a number of years. Moseley will be a good challenge for us, too, but before all that we have a big few games left in the current season."

The game against Edinburgh is included in the 2013/14 Season Ticket package.

The full details of the 2013 pre-season matches are:

Fri, Aug 16th - Bedford Blues (a)

Thurs, Aug 22nd - Moseley (a)
