Northampton Saints’ innovative Community team are branching out their international offering this autumn, as the team break new ground in Singapore delivering a rugby camp in October.
Partnering with Sudamerica Coaching, Saints Community coaches will travel to Asia – aiming to support the development of the sport within Singapore through a rugby camp at Tanglin Rugby Club this year.
With the sport already expanding in Asia and Japan set to represent the region at the upcoming Rugby World Cup, Saints head to Singapore to offer boys and girls in the country the chance to experience the sport.
Over 100 young players are set to take part in the sessions at Tanglin in October, adding to the work Saints have already accomplished in Spain, Italy, Gibraltar and Chile.
“Part of our goal as a Community team is to grow the game of rugby as far and wide as possible and this is another step along the way,” said Saints Head of Community, Connor Fleming.
“Northampton Saints is a club steeped in a proud and long history, the team play an exciting brand of rugby and as such we have a lot to offer the rugby community.
“As a Community team, our aim is to showcase our club both in the UK and internationally, develop the wider game and grow the number of Saints fans from around the globe.”Connor Fleming, Saints’ Head of Community & Women’s Rugby
“We already have a strong track record of delivering fantastic rugby camps domestically and now we’re building on this experience to develop our international portfolio.
“We want to continue to build our links across the globe to good people who are committed to growing the game, and we hope that our growing work internationally will lead to more success both on and off the field.”
