SAINTS EPDG U14 24-24 INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS U14

The Under-14 EPDG took on an Independent Schools team, compiled of a selection of the best young players from independent teams in the country. After a battling display from both sides, the game eventually fairly ended in a 24-all draw in which several of the Saints youngsters impressed.

SAINTS EPDG U15 46-18 INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS U15


Later that afternoon, the Under-15 EPDG also took on their Independent Schools counterparts on the Bedford School pitches. It proved another fierce encounter; however, it was the Saints who came out on top in, running out 46-18 victors. While the youngsters were made to work hard for their points, the overall performance was reflected by the difference between the sides on the scoreboard.

Saints EPDG Manager Ross Stewart was impressed by all of the youngsters and also hopes that the run out will serve them well in the coming months.


"The games provided a great opportunity for us to see the players in a game environment," he commented. "All of the players turned up at the weekend with the right attitude and they played the game in the right way too, limiting the amount of kicking and trying to keep the ball in hand at every chance.


"Now the lads return to their respective county sides and hopefully after their performances on Sunday, they can continue to do the Saints proud. We look forward to seeing many of them in future EPDG fixtures with the club and would also like to pass on our thanks to Bedford School for the use of their facilities, which were top notch."
