Saints to face Leinster, Lyon and Benetton Rugby in Heineken Champions Cup

Northampton Saints have been draw into Pool 1 in the Heineken Champions Cup alongside Leinster, Lyon OU, and Benetton Rugby following today’s draw in Lausanne.

The men in Black, Green and Gold earned a return to the top table of European rugby by virtue of their fourth-place finish in last season’s Gallagher Premiership, and their reward will be visits to France, Ireland, and Italy in 2019/20.

Saints have enjoyed several blockbuster ties with PRO14 champions Leinster in the past, are unbeaten in four meetings with Treviso-based Benetton, but have never before met Lyon in competitive rugby.

With the fixtures due to be formally announced in August, the first two rounds of the competition will take place on the weekends commencing 15 and 22 of November, before the Pool stages are concluded with further matches in December and January.

And the Heineken Champions Cup final is already set for Saturday 23 May 2019 at the Stade de Marseille.

Northampton Saints’ official team and supporter travel supplier Thomas Cook Sport will once again be offering supporter packages for all three away fixtures in the Pool stages, with more information to be released at a later date.
