The Saints will be taking on a west country double to open their 2016/17 Aviva Premiership campaign.
Bath visit Franklin’s Gardens on opening day, with the Saints then travelling to Ashton Gate to kick off new-promoted Bristol’s own home campaign seven days later. Kick off for the Bath game will be at 3:30pm to avoid a direct clash with Northampton Town’s home game against MK Dons on the same day, which will kick off at 2:30pm.
This is followed by a trip to Allianz Park, with Wasps and Exeter providing the opposition for back-to-back home games that will round out the first month of the season.
Rounds 10 and 18 will go into the diary, too, with the Saints travelling to Welford Road on the opening weekend of December and Leicester visiting Franklin’s Gardens on the last weekend of March. This Tigers clash is the first of five tough matches in a run-in that also includes trips to Wasps and Exeter and home games against Saracens and Harlequins.
BT Sport has chosen to broadcast four of the Saints’ opening eight matches, including the home games against Wasps, Exeter and Gloucester and the trip to Saracens.
Supporters should note that every game from Round 9 onwards are still subject to confirmation for TV broadcast requirements. A calendar of games can be downloaded to smartphones from the fixture list on this website; this calendar automatically updates when kick off dates and times are confirmed.
Every home game is included in the Saints’ Season Ticket package; for more details about how supporters can make their voice count in 2016/17 head to www.northamptonsaints.co.uk/seasontickets
Premiership Rugby has also confirmed that the Saints will open and close the Northampton leg of the Singha Premiership Rugby Sevens Series on Friday, July 29th. The Saints will play Harlequins at 7pm, Saracens at 8:20pm and Gloucester at 9:15pm. Tickets for the evening of fun-filled entertainment on the pitch and a carnival off it can be booked now at www.tinyurl.com/SaintsSevensHeaven
