Northampton Saints will host Lyon OU in their opening fixture of this season’s Heineken Champions Cup after details for the tournament’s first six pool rounds were announced today.
This season – 20 years on from the Club's historic Heineken Cup victory – Saints embark on their first campaign in the top tier of European rugby under Chris Boyd’s tutelage, securing their place in the competition with a fourth-place Gallagher Premiership finish.
Saints kick-off their campaign with an Anglo-French clash at Franklin's Gardens as Lyon OU come to town for the first time ever (Sunday 17 November, kick-off 1pm), before a trip to Treviso follows for the men in Black, Green and Gold when they take on Benetton Rugby.
Saints will then tackle Irish giants Leinster twice in two weeks; first at home (Saturday 7 December, kick-off 1pm) and then away to complete the December block.
And Boyd's men will round off the pool stages of the competition by welcoming Benetton to Northampton (Sunday 12 January, kick-off 1pm) before breaking new ground in Lyon.
Hospitality for all three matches is now available, starting from £39 per person. CLICK HERE to purchase now.
The Club are again planning to offer supporter packages for those wishing to travel and cheer on the men in Black, Green and Gold through official travel supplier Thomas Cook Sport.
