Saints travel to MK with European hopes still alight

Travis PerkinsSponsored by Travis Perkins

Having narrowly lost their last two Aviva Premiership fixtures in the games’ final moments, Saints come into this weekend’s trip to Stadium:MK sitting in seventh place in the table on level points with Harlequins who reside in sixth.

Having won two of their three Premiership Rugby games in Milton Keynes, one of those coming against this weekend’s opposition when the sides last lined up there in 2015, Saints have scored 30 points or more in five of their last six Aviva Premiership games but have only secured wins in two of those games.

Though their last defeat in all competitions was in the Anglo-Welsh semi-final to Leicester Tigers at Allianz Park, Saracens have lost three of their last five away games in Premiership Rugby, at visits to Bath, Worcester and Gloucester.

Though Saracens have already secured knock-out rugby qualification in the last round the of the competition, both sides will be pushing for a victory with there being just six points separating the three sides at the top of the table and five points dividing the teams between fourth and seventh.

Saints are now tied on 47 Aviva Premiership league points with Harlequins in the chase for next season’s Champions Cup, and Bath and Leicester are just five points ahead in the battle for the top four. This makes this weekend’s game against Saracens all-the-more important, and every voice will count at Stadium MK.
