This Friday night sees the Aviva Premiership return with a bang as two of the Champions Cup quarter finalists go head-to-head at Franklin’s Gardens.
The Saints host Wasps in a clash that has plenty riding on it at every level.
Both teams will be going into this week’s training on the back of a weekend that saw them both qualify for the last eight of Europe’s top club competition.
But they will be focused on the task in hand, namely keeping up the chase for the Aviva Premiership’s top four, and here the teams can barely be separated.
The Saints lie fifth in the table on 22 points, with Wasps just one place and two points behind them. Things are close in the number of bonus points, too, with Saints having six and Wasps four, although Saints have the better points difference, +26 compared to Wasps’ +12.
There is also the small matter of Midlands rivalry, too, with East meeting West in the battle for supremacy.
Derby drama is well known between the Saints and Leicester, but last April saw Wasps join the Midlands triumvirate at Franklin’s Gardens in a contest that saw controversy, tries, comebacks and some scintillating rugby.
Groups of tickets are available in most areas of the stadium, including the Burrda Sport and Barwell Stands and in the Gordon Terrace.
