Spanish success for Junior Saints

It was the perfect start for the youngsters who scored eight tries overall to kick start their FIRA tournament campaign, Olver contributing the remaining points with six conversions and two penalties - one of which set the ball rolling in the third minute.

Stephenson, who has already captained the Under-18s this season, put a superb finish on the sixth during a team display that impressed head coach John Fletcher.

"We're pleased with the result, but more pleased with the performance. We spoke about stepping it up from our last game and I think we did that today. Our forwards did well , the set-piece was good and we just did the basics right which is what you have to do.

"We moved the ball around and created options - lots of people got their hands on the ball and demonstrated what good players they are."

There were three more Junior Saints Academy players involved in the win, too, Howard Packman enjoying a full run out on the wing and front rowers Danny Hobbs-Awoyemi and Reece Marshall both contributing from the bench.
