The Champions Cup – every point matters!

Travis PerkinsSponsored by Travis Perkins

In Italy the Saints did what they needed to do, putting six tries past Treviso in a 38-15 win that secured the East Midlanders a maximum haul at the Stadio Monigo.

That started Saturday’s action in perfect style, but when Racing Metro built a 10-point lead at the Liberty Stadium later on it looked as if the Parisians would retain their place in the Pool 5 driver’s seat.

Racing were indeed in first place come the end of the day, but only by virtue of their head-to-head record against the Saints (in other words courtesy of their Round 1 win in Paris). That was because the Ospreys fought back in the second half to tie things up at 19-all, which is how the score remained until the final whistle.

So after three rounds of action Racing and Saints both have 10 points, with the Ospreys breathing down their necks with seven.

Racing and Ospreys resume on Saturday evening in Le Mans. But of course while players, coaches and supporters alike from Franklin’s Gardens will take an interest in that game the only thing any of us can control is the Saints’ own home match against Treviso.

In Europe every point and every win matters, and supporters can play their part by snapping up the final few tickets and turning the Gardens into a cauldron of noise!

There are a number of areas where small groups of tickets are available together – Blocks A, H, J Lower, P Lower, Q, X and Y, with single seats available in several other blocks. Standing tickets are available in Terrace Blocks B and D, as well as the Patio.
