Northampton Saints’ Tommy Freeman has been named Travis Perkins Player of the Month for May and June – with the fullback's stellar performances at the end of the season earning him almost 60% of the supporter vote.
With Saints’ Gallagher Premiership clashes against Saracens and Newcastle Falcons, as well as the semi-final outing at Leicester Tigers, being taken into account for this month’s voting, Freeman claimed the award after beating fellow nominees Dan Biggar, Rory Hutchinson and Courtney Lawes for his end-of-season efforts.
Named Saints’ Young Player of the Season at the end of May, Freeman scored in all three of Northampton’s matches across May and June – claiming a hat-trick of tries against Falcons before scoring the Club’s 100th try of the season against Leicester – with those performances earning the fullback a call to Eddie Jones’ England squad for the summer tour of Australia.
Saints and Travis Perkins have joined forces this season to offer supporters the chance to win fantastic prizes, while rewarding Northampton’s players for their stellar performances throughout the campaign.
This month’s winner was Chris Tero, who was selected at random out of over 500 supporters who voted on the Travis Perkins Player of the Month award to win £50 worth of Saints Store vouchers.
