Two Saints turning out for England Under-19

Two players from the Saints Senior Academy have been included in the England Under-19 squad for a friendly against France this weekend.

James Grayson starts at fly half for the friendly, which is being played at the Stade Jules Ladoumegue in Messy on Saturday evening. Prop Toby Trinder has been named as one of the eight replacements.

The squad is a combination of players currently in the England pathway and players who have caught the eye of the national age-grade coaches with their performances for their respective clubs this season.

“It is hugely important that we continue to look at a wide pool of players and this match offers us the opportunity to challenge them in a new environment,” said England player pathway coach Peter Walton, who is managing the team. “Facing France away from home will be a good experience for these players and we know we can expect a physical test, so I’m excited to see how they perform.”
