WASPS 23 SAINTS 27 Dickens expecting further improvements

Alan Dickens was pleased with the Saints’ strong finish at Ricoh Arena and believes there is still more to come from the side with less than a fortnight until the season opener with Worcester.

After a physical and defence dominated first half, a topsy turvy encounter ensued and it was the visitors who kept their nerve at the death to score a well-crafted try through Tom Collins.

“I think we managed the game really well in the last five or so minutes so it’s really pleasing,” Dickens told SaintsTV. “They put us under a lot of pressure and scored from the maul, but once we’d regained possession after the restart we were in control from there.

“We were obviously pleased overall, but there are still a lot of areas we’ve identified to work on.

“As a coaching team and a a squad, we’re always pushing ourselves to improve and get better and better.”

The Saints’ Aviva Premiership campaign is coming ever-closer with each passing day, and you can get behind them at The Big Kick-Off at stadiummk on Saturday, October 24th when Newcastle Falcons visit the East Midlands. Tickets are on sale now at www.tinyurl.com/SaintsFalcons1516
