Premiership Rugby’s landmark new partnership with investment advisory firm CVC Capital Partners can be incredibly significant for Northampton Saints, according to Club chairman John White.
CVC will be investing in a minority shareholding with Premiership Rugby, marking the start of a new era for English professional club rugby.
The investment is expected to complete in the first quarter of 2019 and represents the latest commitment by CVC to the sports, media and entertainment sector – with the firm previously leading investments in Moto GP, Formula One, Stage Entertainment and Merlin Entertainments.
“I am confident this is a transformational deal for the Premiership clubs collectively, and for Saints specifically,” said White. “The future looks very exciting indeed.

“This major investment into the club game, alongside owners and Premiership Rugby, supports the ambition for further growth of the Gallagher Premiership domestically and internationally.”
Saints chief executive Mark Darbon added: “This investment is a huge validation of the league and the clubs, and I’m confident this will be a catalyst for the continued growth of Northampton Saints.
“This will not only support the development of infrastructure across the Club, but also improve our supporter experience and help us reach new audiences.”
