Five Loughborough Lightning players included in Scotland's WXV 2 squad

Five Loughborough Lightning players have been called up into Scotland’s 30-player squad heading to Cape Town for the new global competition, WXV 2.

Rachel Malcolm will captain Scotland and Helen Nelson has been named as vice-captain, with Christine Belisle, Emma Wassell and Chloe Rollie also selected by head coach Bryan Easson.

The first fixtures of WXV 2023 take place in WXV 2 on Friday 13 October at Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch as Scotland face hosts South Africa (kick-off 4.30pm).

The tournament then heads to Cape Town with the Athlone Stadium hosting the second and third rounds of WXV 2, with Scotland going head-to-head against USA on Friday 20 October (kick-off 2pm) before concluding their campaign against Japan on Friday 27 October (kick-off 2pm).

In preparation for the tournament, Scotland host Spain at Hive Stadium in Edinburgh on Saturday 30 September (kick-off 5.45pm).
