Ten Loughborough Lightning players have been named in England Under-20 Women’s squad for the Six Nations Summer Series by head coach LJ Lewis.
Lucy Calladine will lead the squad for the first time in a capped fixture, following on from April’s meeting with the Springboks and last week’s opposed training against Wales.
Grace Clifford, Lucy Finch, Keevy Fitzpatrick, Haineala Lutui and Amelia Williams join Calladine amongst the group of forwards, while Ashton Adcock, Lia Green, Molly Luthayi and Carmela Morrall are all named in the backs division.
Finch, Fitzpatrick, Lutui, Adcock and Luthayi are all uncapped at Under-20s level and will hope to make their debuts during the tournament.
England’s Summer Series fixtures have been confirmed by Six Nations, opening against Scotland, then taking on Italy before concluding their campaign against France at CCB Centre for Sporting Excellence at Ystrad Mynach. All games will be streamed live on the Six Nations U20 YouTube channel.
LJ Lewis said: “It’s a great privilege to finally unveil the squad, an incredible amount of discipline and work has gone in from our players and staff to reach this point.
“With a sharp, demanding schedule, we want tenacity and courage in our players’ approach on the field as a bonded unit.
“Experiences like this are key for the development of our Red Roses hopefuls. Continuity in opportunities like the Summer Series are vital for the growth of players, as well as the women’s game.”
