TNT Sports have made a change to their broadcast schedule for this weekend’s Allianz Premiership Women’s Rugby fixtures, with Loughborough Lightning’s clash with Trailfinders Women no longer being screened live.
Saturday’s Round 9 match is scheduled to be held at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens (kick-off: 2pm), and had originally been selected by TNT Sports to be this weekend’s live broadcast match.
However, given adverse weather conditions this week (with freezing cold temperatures sweeping the country), the broadcaster has elected to show Gloucester-Hartpury versus Saracens instead – which will be played on the all-weather pitch at Kingsholm Stadium.
The all-natural grass pitch at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens has been covered by frost sheets since Sunday, and the game is currently still expected to be played in Northampton.
If the pitch is frozen and deemed unsuitable for play, Lightning will revert to the all-weather pitch at Epinal Way (Loughborough University) to host the match. Should there be any change made to the venue, this will be communicated via Lightning’s social media channels and website by Thursday evening.
With the match no longer being televised, the only way to watch Lightning versus Trailfinders live is by purchasing a ticket from as little as £6 for adults and £3 for juniors*.
