Northampton Saints vs Ulster

Ulster look to maul but it comes down and Ulster are awarded a penalty. Cooney points to the posts with the game's last play. 

Saints work forwards but are penalised for holding on and Cooney sends it to touch for a lineout back in Saints' half. 

Saints push Ulster back and eventually earn a penalty for their efforts. Biggar sends the ball into touch for a lineout in Ulster's half. 

Huge shove from Saints at the scrum but Ulster manage to keep the ball. They come forwards in Saints' half now. 

James replaces Mitchell as we set the scrum. 

Ulster work over the halfway line before sending it high. Tuala is under it and he finds Sleightholme to clear. Ulster come back and the ball comes loose, but he deems it to have come off Saints hands and it'll be and Ulster put in at the scrum. 

Wood replaces Isiekwe as we restart.

Hume races into the 22 but Saints defence pushes Ulster back again. The away side keep pushing though.

Cooney gets the ball out of the scrum quickly and Ulster look to push into Saints' 22 once more. 

Moon replaces Coles as we set the scrum. 

Scrappy at the lineout and Ulster come away with it. Cooney boxes high and Dingwall is there to take it. Saints come forwards but knock the ball on again. Ulster play on and Ludlam gets over the ball again but we come back for the knock on. Scrum Ulster. 

Ulster work forwards off the scrum but Ludlam gets over the ball as they reach the 22, earning Saints the penalty there. Biggar sends it to touch for a lineout on halfway. 

Front row changes for Saints as Waller, Matavesi and Hill make way for Auterac, Haywood and Painter – with the latter making his 50th appearance in Black, Green and Gold. 

Saints push forwards this time and work out of their 22 but they knock on there. Scrum Ulster. 

Overthrow at the lineout from Saints and Ulster chip through into space behind Saints' line. The ball bobbles into touch and Saints have a lineout but back in their own 22. 

Ulster are penalised for a high tackle and Biggar sends it to touch for a lineout just outside Ulster's 22. 

Ulster send the restart back Saints' way and the home side push on the halfway line. 

Ulster go short at the lineout and O'Connor charges forwards up the right.Harrison comes across to take the lock down but Ulster work close and they're up to the five metre line quickly. 

No touchline conversion from Francis and Saints send the restart into touch.  Lineout Ulster on halfway. 

Saints push forwards off the back of this scrum and Hutchinson chips over the top. Ulster get there first but Matavesi is over the ball and earns Saints the penalty. Biggar puts it in the corner. 

Free kick Saints at the scrum and they choose to scrum again.

Freeman is helped from the field and Dingwall takes his place. Hopefully nothing too serious for the young fullback!

Saints push into Ulster's half but Freeman's hit hard and he knocks the ball on. He stays down and we pause the game while he's treated. 

Solid at the scrum and Ulster come forwards before Cooney boxes high. Tuala is under it and Saints push on around halfway. 

Cooney boxes high and Sleightholme gets under it, snaking forwards again. He makes it past three defenders before he's taken down but he knocks on as he's taken down. Scrum Ulster in their own 22. 

Biggar sends the penalty to touch and Saints come forwards quickly off the back of the resulting lineout. Sleightholme snaking down the right wing before trying to find Freeman. His offload heads into touch though and Ulster have the lineout. 

Burns sends the ball over the top and though Baloucoune gets to it first the penalty goes Saints way as Hutchinson is stopped from competing. 

Cooney sends the ball high from the restart and Stockdale gets under it. Ulster push up to the halfway line and keep coming.

Solid at this scrum and Ulster work up to the five metre line quickly. Pushing hard on Saints' line.

Free kick Ulster at the scrum and they choose to pack down again.

Ulster look to maul from the lineout but Saints hold them. Herring breaks away and pushes over the whitewash but he's held up. Scrum Ulster on the five metre line.

Advantage being played to Ulster as they push and when their advance is pushed back but Saints' defence, we come back for it. Burns sends it into the corner for an Ulster lineout there.

Isiekwe is up for the lineout and Saints come forwards before Biggar sends it downfield. Aerial tennis ensues and it's Ulster who choose to run it first, working back into Saints' half.

Burns clears off the back of the scrum and the ball finds touch. Lineout Saints just inside their own half. 

Cooney boxed high off the restart and Freeman gets under it. Saints push on the halfway line but get held up there. Scrum Ulster then.

Biggar gets us restarted here at Franklin's Gardens!

Ulster come forwards and though Saints get over the ball again, the penalty goes Ulster's way once more. Cooney points to the posts with this one.

Biggar sends the restart back Ulster's way and they come forwards into Saints' half.

Francis sends the conversion just left from out wide but Ribbans returns to the field as we restart. 

Saints work forwards off the scrum, coming right before heading back left as they look for a gap in Ulster's line.

Not straight from Ulster at the lineout and Saints will have the scrum. 

Saints steal the lineout though and Hutchinson and Sleightholme get the attack flowing before it comes back the other way. Hutchinson chips through for Tuala to chase but it just bobbles into touch before the replacement wing can reach it. Lineout Ulster there.

Saints come forwards well off the lineout but Ulster get over the ball and earn a penalty as Saints get over the 22 line. Burns sends it to touch for a lineout on halfway. 

Saints gather the restart as Ulster return it and they push forwards over the halfway line. There they're awarded a penalty at the breakdown and Biggar sends it into touch for a Saints lineout on Ulster's 22. 

Ulster come wide quickly off the back of the lineout, Baloucoune in space. But Freeman puts in a brilliant try-saving tackle, forcing the knock-on from the Ulsterman. But another penalty advantage was being played, Burns sending this one into the corner again.

Ulster come forwards again and though the ball comes loose and into Freeman's hands, we come back for another penalty advantage. Burns sends it into the corner again. 

The ball comes wide left and though Sleightholme is over it, the penally goes Ulster's way. Burns sends it into the corner as Isiekwe returns from the sin bin. 

Ulster come forwards, working slowly up to Saints' 22. 

Saints gather the restart well and Mitchel clears to touch from the back of a ruck. Lineout Ulster back near halfway. 

Saints push forwards and with an advantage coming, Biggar sends a looping pass out to a waiting Sleightholme. But it heads just over the winger's head into touch and we come back for the penalty. 

But Saints hold firm and Waller gets over the ball to earn Saints a penalty. Biggar sends it into touch for a lineout on Ulster's 22. 

Ulster send the restart back Saints way and they home team push into Ulster's half before Mitchell boxes it high. Ulster gather and push back at Saints, trying to exploit their extra men. 

Ulster earn another penalty off the back of the lineout and Burns sends this one to the corner too. 

Ulster claim the lineout well, chipping over the top but Mitchell gets there first and clears. The referee was playing advantage to the away side though and we come back for it, Burns sending it into the corner.

Ulster collect the lineout and come forwards up to halfway before sending a high ball up. Freeman gets under it and Tuala charges forwards before Hutchinson sends the ball downfield off his boot. Lowry returns the kick but his goes straight out. Lineout Saints back in Ulster's half. 

Mitchell dinks over in to space from the restart and the ball bobbles into touch. Lineout Ulster back near their own 22. 

Naiyaravoro leaves the field for a HIA and Tuala comes on in his place. 

Saints push forwards once more, creeping over halfway and stretching Ulster's defence left to right. They work into the 22 and keep coming. 

Biggar chips over the top into space and Ulster collect. They run it back at Saints but are penalised for crossing. Biggar sends to touch again. 

Penalty Saints at the scrum! Biggar kicks to touch and Saints come forwards off the back of the lineout. 

Harrison claims the kick-off and Saints try to push forward but huge hits from Ulster's defence forces the error and Ulster have the scrum.
