Exeter Chiefs vs Northampton Saints

It's a penalty to Saints says the referee!

TMO intervenes as there's a foul play call against Exeter. 

Time's up but Chiefs are awarded a penalty at the breakdown. Slade sends it to touch for a lineout just inside Saints' 22. 

Just enough time for a restart here...

Penalty coming for Saints from the maul at the lineout and eventually we come back for it. Furbank points to the posts. 

Augustus gets over the ball at the breakdown just off the lineout and earn the penalty. Furbank finds the corner with a brilliant touch finding penalty.

Saints steal the lineout but as the ball heads wide the other way, it finds touch again. Lineout Chiefs on the halfway line.

Saints race forwards off the lineout, getting back wide to Freeman  quickly but his final pass to Sleightholme heads into touch. Lineout Chiefs. 

Penalty Saints at the scrum! Furbank sends it to touch for a lineout back near halfway. 

Impressive defence from Saints and the away side get the put in at the scrum. 

Chiefs try to maul but Saints hold them. The home side keep possession though and are pushing on the five metre line now. 

Penalty Chiefs at the scrum and Slade sends it to the corner. 

Mitchell is replaced by Lomani as we set the scrum – with the latter making his debut to become Saints #2035.

Scrappy ball at the restart and Saints are deemed to have knocked the ball on. Scrum Chiefs.

Fish re-enters the game as he replaces Matavesi on the restart. 

But Chiefs are penalised just off the back of it as they fail to roll away. Furbank points to the posts with the resulting penalty. 

Saints push at the scrum before Mitchell whips it out to the midfield. But Saints are held up there and Chiefs have the scrum. 

Freeman sends it high this time and though Sleightholme gets there the ball comes forwards off Chiefs hands this time. Scrum Saints.  

Scrappy off the scrum from Chiefs but they keep possession. Hidalgo-Clyne sends it high and Freeman is under it. Saints play on.

Saints maul forwards with the restart before Mitchell sends the ball high. Collins is in chase but a strong aerial battle ends in a knock on from the winger. Scrum Chiefs. 

Moon and Freeman enter play as we restart, with Ratuniyarawa and Grayson making way. 

Chiefs are found offside at the lineout and Grayson points to the posts with this one.

Aerial tennis from the restart before Chiefs choose to play just inside their half. They push forwards before they're found offside as the ball heads high again. Grayson sends the ball into the corner.

Simmonds' kick heads wide and Saints have the 22 drop out. 

Chiefs just gather the restart and Hidalgo-Clyne sends it high. Saints get there but a pinged at the breakdown and Simmonds points to the posts with the resulting penalty. 

Overthrow at the lineout from Saints and Chiefs collect. There's an advantage coming for the home side and we come back for it eventually. Simmonds points to the posts. 

Maunder sends the ball high and Grayson is there. Furbank sends it long and Simmonds finds touch with his responding kick. Lineout Saints just inside their own half. 

Penalty Chiefs at the scrum though and Slade sends the ball to touch.

Waller is replaced by Auterac as we set the lineout. 

Saints maul forwards but Chiefs' defence hold and they earn themselves the put in at the scrum. 

Augustus replaces Harrison as we set the lineout.

Saints push forwards but Grayson is taken out without the ball and he sends the resulting penalty into the corner. 

Mitchell comes around the corner off the lineout and Saints push up to the five metre line now. 

Chiefs go quickly off the lineout but Saints defend hard and eventually the ball comes loose. Grayson boots it downfield but Ratuniyarawa gets over the ball and earn the penalty on the halfway line. Grayson sends it to touch for a lineout just outside Chiefs' 22. 

Fish makes way as Matavesi and Harrison return from the sin bin.

Chiefs kick through to touch but with an advantage coming in the midfield, we come back for the penalty. Simmonds sends it to touch for a lineout just inside Saints' half. 

Scrappy at the scrum but Chiefs manage to keep the ball and work up to halfway. But there Saints get over the ball and earn the penalty. Grayson misses touch with his kick through and Chiefs come forwards up to the halfway line.

Mitchell hacks through for Sleightholme to chase but Devoto gets a hand to it first. A goal line drop from Chiefs then but Saints just knock the high ball on. Scrum Chiefs. 

Mitchell slips through Chiefs' line and though he's taken down, there's another knock on from Exeter. Scrum Saints on Chiefs' 22. 

Hill has replaced Painter at half-time and Fish replaces Harrison as we set the scrum.

Chiefs knock on the restart and Saints have the scrum.

Grayson gets us restarted here at Sandy Park!

Chiefs look to maul forwards and though Saints defend well, they're pinged in the maul and Chiefs go quickly. 

Mitchell and Collins come forwards off the scrum but are penalised as they take contact. Slade sends the ball into the corner.

Good pressure off the lineout from Saints and Chiefs knock the ball on as they bring it out to the midfield. Scrum Saints just inside their own 22. 

Saints get over the ball as Chiefs push into their half but are pinged there for coming in at the side. Simmonds sends the ball into the corner with the penalty. 

Grayson clears from the restart and Chiefs will have the lineout back near halfway. 

Maunders sends the ball high off the back of the ruck and Saints play on. Sleightholme chips through to chase himself and though Hodge gets there first, his clearing kick heads straight out. Saints move quickly off the resulting lineout and earn a penalty as Exeter don't release in a tackle. Grayson points to the posts. 

Ribbans is up for the lineout and Saints come wide quickly. Sleightholme dances up the wing and chips through but Devoto just gets there first. Saints get up to defend quickly but are pinged at the breakdown and Simmonds sends the ball to touch for a lineout on halfway. 

Saints' defence stays ferocious and eventually Ribbans gets over the ball to earn the penalty. Grayson sends it to touch for a lineout back near halfway. 

Saints defend hard as the ball comes off the back of the scrum but they're pinged at the breakdown and Chiefs take it quickly. 

Harrison charges forwards off the base of the scrum again and there's another knock on but this one comes off Saints hands. Scrum Chiefs.

Solid at the scrum and Harrison charges forwards. There's a scrappy contest for the ball but the referee deems Chiefs to have knocked the ball on and Saints will have another scrum. 

Chiefs look to maul the lineout but Saints hold firm and earn the put in at the scrum. 

Wood is up for the restart but Saints knock on in contact just after and are pinged at the breakdown too. Slade sends it to the corner.

Wood steals the lineout and Saints come forwards quickly. 

Dingwall chases Grayson's kick hard and gets there first. He finds Collins outside him and but he's just pushed into touch as he races down the wing. Lineout Chiefs on their own 22. 

Chiefs maul for the line but are held up and we'll have a goal line drop out.

Wood is up for the lineout again and Harrison pushes Saints forwards before Furbank put the ball on his boot. O'Flaherty is there but Saints a pinged for being found offside and Slade sends it to touch for a lineout inside Saints' 22.

Saints maul forwards well before Mitchell sends it high. Chiefs get there but a huge Dingwall hit stops them in their tracks. Simmonds eventually sends the ball through to touch for a Saints lineout on their own 22. 

Loose ball at the restart is collected by Exeter but after a couple of bits hits from Ludlam and Matavesi, Simmonds dinks through to touch. Lineout Saints.

Penalty Saints at the lineout and Grayson sends it to touch for a lineout back near halfway. 

Chiefs look to maul but Saints defend hard and Ludlam gets to the ball. Scrum Saints. 

Saints' defence holds off the back of the scrum but there's high tackle and Simmonds sends the resulting penalty to touch for a lineout inside Saints' 22. 

Chiefs sends the restart high and though it comes down in Saints hands, there's a knock on in the resulting contact. Scrum Chiefs. 

Chiefs look to maul but Saints hold firm and force their hosts to bring the ball wide. They work their way up to the the five metre line and keep coming.

Mitchell sends the ball high off the back of the ruck and Chiefs hands just get there first. The home side come forwards and though Proctor gets over the ball, the penalty at the breakdown goes Exeter's way. Simmonds sends the ball into touch for a lineout inside Saints' 22. 

Free kick Chiefs at the scrum as Saints are found pre-engaged at the scrum and Simmonds sends it high. Sleightholme is there and Saints play on just inside their own half. 

Harrison gather the kick-off and finds Furbank in space to charge forwards into Chiefs' half. Saints keep coming but knock the ball on in contact and Exeter will have the first scrum of the match.
