Northampton Saints vs London Irish

Saints defend well as Irish look to push further into the home half. Eventually they work up to the Saints 22 as the clock runs down. But just in the last seconds, Saints knock on in contact and we'll have scrum for the final play.

Short at the restart for Saints and Hutchinson taps it back to Hendy. Saints play on and Collins and Litchfield get things over the halfway line.

Irish come charging back at Saints from the restart but Irvine intercepts a pass just as they reach Saints' 22 and Tupai sends it high. Irish get under it though and have a penalty just after. Jennings points to the posts.

Grayson send she restart high and Irish are under it. They play on.

It's a debut fro Irvine as he replaces Wilkins on the restart.

Solid at the scrum and Saints whip it wide to Collins. He's taken down and Irish gather loose ball just after. Englefield sends it high and Grayson is there. Saints play on.

Advantage coming for Saints as Irish knock on contact and Saints will have the scrum.

Hutchinson is nearly though off the lineout and Saints push deep into Irish's 22 now.

Penalty Saints at the breakdown and Hutchinson sends it to touch for a lineout in Irish's 22.

Grayson clears off the restart and Jennings runs it back at Saints. Aerial tennis ensures after that before Irish's Rowe sends it out on the full. Lineout Saints just inside the Irish half. 

Wide from Grayson with the touchline conversion though and Jennings restarts.

Grayson puts the resulting penalty into the corner for a Saints lineout there.

Hutchinson comes forwards off the lineout again and Saints push into the Irish 22 now.

Lockett is up for the lineout and Saints maul forwards again. It comes down legally just short of the line but Irish turn the ball over in the next phase and Englefield clears. Lineout Saints just outside the Irish 22 now.

Coles is up for the lineout and Saints maul forwards, earning a penalty there too. Grayson puts the ball back into the corner.

Blood replacement reversal for Saints, Auterac returns as Iyogun makes way.

Huge shove from Saints at the scrum and it's a penalty for the him side. Grayson sends it to touch for a lineout in Irish's 22. 

Change for Saints, Sylvester is replaced by Newman as we set the scrum. 

The ball comes forwards off Irish hands and Grayson sends it downfield. Irish come forwards but Litchfield strips the ball in contact and sends it to Hutchinson in the midfield, but the centre knocks the ball on in contact there and Irish will have the scrum. 

Grayson clears off the restart and Jennings is there. he runs it back at Saints and Irish play on just inside Saints' half.

Tupai replaces James as we restart. 

Moon is up for the lineout and the ball comes wide quickly to Collins and still Saints push.

Saints come forwards still and Collins chips through for Gillespie to chase. The Saints winger doesn't quite get there first but Saints push Irish into touch just after. Lineout Saints in the Irish 22.

Wilkins is up for the lineout and Saints earn a penalty there too. Hendy takes it quickly and Saints push on into the Irish 22 now.

Collins replaces E Grayson as we set the lineout, with Iyogun replacing Auterac in a blood replacement too.

Hutchinson works forwards off the lineout before the ball comes back to Gillespie on the wing. But Irish turn the ball over again at the breakdown and O'Sullivan boxes high. Hendy is there and he returns it before Jennings finds touch with his clearing kick. Lineout Saints on halfway.

But Irish turn the ball over as Saints work close to the try line and Jennings clears. Lineout Saints just outside the Irish 22.

Strong from Saints off the lineout and Wilkins barges close to the whitewash. Still Saints come.

Hutchinson gets play into the 22 and Saints earn a penalty there too, Grayson puts it into the corner.

Wilkins comes forwards off the scrum and Saints push towards the Irish 22 now.

Good pressure from Saints but strong Irish defence forces the mistake and Irish gather loose ball and clear. Hutchinson is back there and he sends it high. Aerial tennis ensues before Irish decide to run the ball. Saints defend well though and have the lineout as the ball heads into touch off Irish hands.

Coles is up for the lineout and Saints bring the ball wide to E Grayson quickly. They come back the other way and push their way up to the 22 now.

Lockett gets over the ball to earn Saints penalty though and Grayson sends it into touch for a lineout just inside Irish's half.

Grayson clears the restart but Irish take the lineout quickly and push on.

Changes for Saints at half-time, Iyogun, Marshall and Garside make way for Auterac, Fish and debutant Carey. While Nansen leaves for a HIA, with Lockett making his Saint debut as he takes his place.

Jennings gets us restart here at cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens.

Irish maul forwards off the lineout and get within inches before bring brought down just short. 

High tackle from Saints as Irish come forwards off the lineout though and Jennings puts it into the corner.

Wilkins is up for the lineout and Gillespie charges forwards off it again. But Irish get over the ball int he next phase and Jennings sends the resulting penalty to touch for a lineotu in Saints' half.

Saints whip the ball wide to Gillespie off the lineout and the winger charges into Irish's half. Hutchinson chips through into space but Stokes is there and he clears. Lineout Saints just outside the Irish 22.

Grayson sends the ball into space behind Irish's line but Rowe manages to keep the ball in play and Jennings clears to touch. Lineout Saints just inside their own half.

Scrappy at the lineout but Saints manage to keep the ball. They push back into Irish's half and keep coming.

Irish push forwards off the lineout but Hutchinson gets over the ball as it comes wide to earn Saints the penalty. Grayson sends the ball to touch for a lineout inside Irish's half.

Hutchinson gathers the restart and it comes back to Grayson to clear. Stokes is under it and Irish earn a penalty at the breakdown too. Jennings sends the ball into the corner for a lineout there.

Saints maul forwards from the lineout and despite being held up over the line, they have an advantage coming and Grayson sends the resulting penalty into the corner again. 

Solid scrum from Saints and James breaks free off the back of it. The ball comes wide to Gillespie and the winger breaks down the right. He's brought down just short of the line but Saints earn a penalty at the breakdown there. Grayson sends it to touch for a lineout there.

Jennings sends a cross field kick over but Gillespie is there and he calls for the mark. The winger tries to go quickly but he's taken down, Grayson sends the ball downfield off his boot and though Irish make it up to the halfway line, they knock on there. Scrum Saints.

O'Sullivan sends it high off restart and Hendy does well to gather it. Saints push forwards before Grayson sends a cross field over to Hutchinson on the wing. Irish hands just get there first though and they play on.

Saints push forwards from the lineout quickly, finding E Grayson out on the wing. But as the winger breaks he's isolated and Irish get over the ball. Jennings sends the resulting penalty to touch for a lineout just inside Saints' half.

O'Sullivan clears from the restart and Saints have the lineotu back near halfway.

Wide on the conversion from Jennings and Grayson restarts things.

Solid at the lineout from Saints but the ball comes forwards in contact just after and Irish gather and play on. Saints are then pinged for a no arms tackle too and Jennings sends the ball into touch for a lineout in Saints' 22.

O'Sullivan finds touch with his clearing kick off the restart and Saints will have the lineout just inside the Irish half.

Scrappy at the lineout and the ball comes down into Irish hands. They push towards Saints' 22 and earn a penalty there too as Saints are slow to roll away at the breakdown. Jennings sends the ball into the corner for a lineout there.

Grayson chips over the top again and this time Jennings calls for the mark. He sends the ball into touch just after and Saints will have the lineout back inside their own half. 

Hutchinson is under the drop out and Saints push forwards again.  Coles gets things in the Irish 22 but Grayson's grubber ends up in Irish hands. Jennings clears but the Saints fly-half is under it and Saints play on again.

The ball comes wide the other way and Litchfield charges towards the whitewash. He's taken down just short and though Saints continue to push from close range, they're held up over the line. Goal line drop out for Irish.

Free kick Saints at the scrum this time and James takes it quickly. The ball comes wide to Hendy, who's into Irish's 22 at pace. Saints keep coming there.

Irish's Cracknell breaks from the back of the scrum but his offload to O'Sullivan is forward. Scrum Saints this time.

Not straight at the lineout says the referee though and Irish will have another scrum.

Free kick Irish at the scrum and they send it to touch. Lineout Saints back near halfway. 

Coles is up for the lineout but Saints knock the ball on just after and we'll have a scrum to Irish.

Irish push from the kick-off but as Saints hold first in defence, O'Sullivan sends it high. Saints return with interest and are quickly up to Irish's 22.
