Alex Coles has been named in England’s starting line-up for their second Test against Argentina, and will be joined in the matchday 23 by Curtis Langdon at Estadio San Juan del Bicentenario on Saturday (12 July, kick-off: 8.40pm BST).
The 25-year-old Coles retains his place at lock after featuring there when Steve Borthwick’s side defeated Los Pumas 35-12 last weekend, and earns his ninth international cap in the process.
Langdon, meanwhile, steps up after Jamie George’s British & Irish Lions call-up, with the hooker primed to earn his third cap overall and a first since 2021.
“Saturday’s match in San Juan is another great challenge,” said England head coach Borthwick. “The players have trained with real focus and intensity this week, determined to keep improving in every area.
“We’re absolutely delighted for Jamie’s selection and this is a fantastic opportunity for Theo and Curtis, who have both worked incredibly hard and really impressed in training.
“They fully deserve this chance, we’re right behind them, and we’re all excited to see them go out there and make an impact.
“We’re expecting a tactical battle as well as a tough, physical contest, and everyone is excited for what should be a fantastic Test match.”
The second match of England’s two-Test series against Argentina will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
England’s summer tour then concludes with a match against the USA Eagles in Washington D.C. on Saturday 19 July.
