While the disappointment of defeat to Wasps lingered post-match, scrum-half Kahn Fotuali’i already had one eye on this weekend’s Champions Cup quarter final.
Sunday’s defeat at the Ricoh marked the end of a 10-game run in the Aviva Premiership and the Samoan scrum-half is looking forward to the change in focus.
“Today was frustrating, but we’ll regroup,” he told SaintsTV. “We’ve got to make sure we look after the ball and build phases. Against a quality side like Wasps you aren’t always going to score off first phase ball.
“It’s about looking after the ball, going one or two phases more and turning that pressure into some sort of points.
“It doesn’t get any easier next week, but it’s a new challenge, a new week. The mindset changes a little bit going away to Saracens, who are another quality side, but we’ll be concentrating on ourselves and stepping it up to get everything right.”
