Alex Coles, Trevor Davison, Emmanuel Iyogun, and Curtis Langdon have all been named in England’s final squad for the Red Rose’s summer Tour to Argentina and the USA by Head Coach Steve Borthwick today.
The 36-player group will open the Tour against Los Pumas in Buenos Aires on Saturday 5 July (kick-off: 8.40pm BST), before travelling to San Juan for the second Test on Saturday 12 July (kick-off: 8.40pm BST). The Tour will then conclude with a Test against the USA in Washington DC on Saturday 19 July (kick-off: 10.00pm BST).
Coles and Davison both featured in last Saturday’s narrow defeat to France XV at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, and will be hoping to earn their eighth and third caps respectively on the journey to the Americas.
Iyogun is one of ten uncapped players included in the touring party, while Langdon will be looking to add to the two England caps he earned back in 2021 over the next month.
“The three-Test series is a huge challenge and a valuable opportunity for the continued development of this squad,” said Borthwick.
“For some of the younger players, this will be their first experience of touring overseas with England. Travelling together helps strengthen team bonds and offers a valuable chance for new players to integrate into our environment.”
Steve Borthwick, England Head Coach
“It’s an exciting test for us, and we’re looking forward to seeing how we continue to evolve as a team.”
Saints players Fraser Dingwall, George Furbank, and Ollie Sleightholme were all ruled out of the tour through injury and were not considered for selection.
The Test matches against Argentina will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, with the Test against the USA available to stream on RugbyPass TV.
