Pisi: Glasgow the focus, not qualification

While the race for Champions Cup qualification heats up this weekend, George Pisi says the Saints’ focus can’t afford to be on anything other than the Glasgow Warriors side in front of them on Sunday afternoon.

Results around the tournament make this year’s one of the most competitive yet and the Samoan says it is imperative that the Saints tackle their quarter final quest one step at a time.

“It’s an important game for us,” he told SaintsTV. “We want to keep ourselves in contention for the quarter finals, but we need to win this game first.

“Glasgow are Pro12 champs and their line-up is pretty much the Scottish team. We’re not taking this game lightly and we’ve got to go for the win first. If we get that and we’ve played well enough, perhaps the four tries will follow.

“We didn’t start well last week but we showed afterwards that we can really put teams to the sword when we put it all together. Our focus will be on starting well, getting some points on the board and hopefully kicking on from that.”
