Northampton Saints Academy get back to action this week, as their 2026/27 season commences at the Malvern College Academy Festival.
Whilst the other sides in the Defender PREM Next Gen League start Round 1 at Malvern, Saints have a bye and therefore kick-off their season with a friendly against Leinster on Wednesday (5 August, kick-off: 12pm).
On Thursday, Northampton’s Under-17s play a rotation of friendly games against Scarlets, Sale, Harlequins, Bath and Gloucester.
Malvern has become a well-trodden path for Saints’ up-and-coming talent, with the likes of Henry Pollock and Archie McParland cutting their teeth at the Festival in recent seasons.
And for Saints’ Under-18s head coach Charlie Reed, this season it’s all about giving players the opportunity to represent Northampton Saints.
He said: “It’s a great opportunity for these young players, we don’t judge by results, we want to get the best performances out of the lads as we can and continue to strive to be better week on week.
“The coaching group’s aim for this season is to create the most physical and skilful players that we can and create the most positive learning experience possible for these young men.”
