Saints partner with StubHub to take ticketing into a new era

Northampton Saints has today announced a new partnership with StubHub, which will see the club introduce a new ticketing platform for the 2017/18 season.

Unlike the previous Elite Sponsorship agreement between the club and company, this new partnership sees StubHub become the Saints’ official ticketing partner, and be the outlet for all tickets, whether for the season or individual matches.

Saints and StubHub will be utilising an integration with the Event Ticketing software from SAP – one of the world’s largest software companies – to offer supporters some brand new and unique features, including ticket transferability and the ability to log into online accounts through Facebook.

In response to considerable amounts of feedback and comments during the past year, Season Ticket Holders will once again be able to re-sell their seats or terrace spots for games they cannot attend through StubHub, setting their own price and managing their own account. This facility will also be offered for all supporters for the first time, too, meaning that if – for whatever reason – a supporter cannot attend a match they will be able to re-sell the ticket.

Match tickets for individual game purchasers will be available as downloadable pdfs, on smartphones to scan at the turnstiles, or as traditional paper versions, with purchasers of re-sold tickets also able to receive their ticket via email for the first time, too.

As part of the partnership StubHub branding will appear on all backroom playing staff computers on match days.

“We’re very excited to be partnering up with StubHub once again,” said Saints commercial director Brian Facer. “Comments from our supporters had been that our ticketing website needed to provide a smooth process for booking match tickets and Season Tickets, so we conducted an extensive review of every type of software available on the market.

“The SAP Event Ticketing software used by StubHub is second to none and will give us the flexibility to be fully responsive to all our supporters, whether they have been at Franklin’s Gardens for years as a Season Ticket Holder or are coming to us for the first time.

“StubHub will also give us the ability to reach a larger audience, something which is crucial as we look to expand as a club in the future, turning more people into Saints supporters and underpinning the investment into the playing effort.”

Nick Harford, StubHub UK’s head of business development and partnerships, international, is delighted to be working once again with the Saints.

"We are delighted to partner with Northampton Saints once again, and this time on a broader level where we will provide a new overall ticketing platform, utilising StubHub's integration with SAP's Event Ticketing software,” he said. “We look forward to developing our long-term partnership."

The club will be transitioning to the new ticketing platform over the coming months, with more information about managing online accounts being sent out to Season Ticket Holders ahead of the 2017/18 season.
