England Under-20s play their fifth-place play-off in the World Rugby U20 Championship this Saturday (19 July, kick-off: 5pm BST) – with four Northampton Saints Archie McParland, Ollie Scola, Aiden Ainsworth-Cave and Jonny Weimann all set to feature.
The quartet of young Saints will face Australia for the second time this tournament – having all played a part in England’s 36-33 victory over the Junior Wallabies back in Round 3.
McParland starts the clash at scrum-half to bring up double digits in his caps at this level so far, while fellow scrum-half Weimann is primed to replace his Saints teammate at Stadio Mario Battaglini to earn his sixth U20s cap.
Forward duo of prop Scola and lock Ainsworth-Cave also begin the final match of the tournament on the bench, as they are named at No. 17 and No. 19 respectively.
U20s head coach Mark Mapletoft said: “Having faced Australia recently in the pool stages, we’re eagerly anticipating another exciting contest to conclude our campaign in Italy.
“Despite not progressing to the top four, the effort from our squad and staff group in the latter stages of the tournament has been relentless and inspiring. We still have an impression to make on Saturday with this special group.
“Some players will be achieving their first and last caps for the U20s this weekend, but we are all motivated to create lifelong memories together as a brotherhood.”
The match will be streamed live and for free on RugbyPass TV in the UK and Ireland.
