Northampton Saints’ mixed ability rugby programme will be opening its doors to new participants, hosting free regular training session at Franklin's Gardens in 2020.
Originally launching the programme back in September 2018, Saints' community team are re-opening the mixed-ability rugby sessions in January in conjunction with Premiership Rugby's Project Rugby campaign.
And as part of the re-launch, Saints will be offering local SEND schools and community groups regular rugby sessions completely free of charge – with the first session taking place on Monday 20 January 2020 from 10am to 12.30pm, where new members will get the chance to meet members of Northampton Saints' senior squad prior to taking part in a taster mixed-ability rugby session.
The sessions are inclusive for able-bodied participants with both learning and physical disabilities, and will run each Monday after the launch from 10am until 11am on the training pitches at Franklin’s Gardens. Mixed ability rugby sessions are fully inclusive, with all players training and playing together; the programme is not just about developing a disability rugby team but about giving people with disabilities the opportunity to train and play as an equal team member.
Sessions are open to all students/groups aged 14-17 years old and are completely free to attend. For more information CLICK HERE or email [email protected].
