Vote now for your cinch Player of the Month for March!

Voting for the cinch Player of the Month award for March is now open, with supporters able to choose the Saint they believe made the biggest contribution on the pitch throughout the month.

The competition will remain open until Tuesday 7 April, when the winning player will be announced by Northampton Saints and cinch.

Throughout the season, cinch are also offering up a range of prizes for those who vote for the award, with one lucky supporter each month selected at random after voting closes. For March, one lucky winner will receive a Saints ball signed by the winner of this month’s award!

Saints took to the field three times throughout March, beginning their month with a 31-14 defeat to Exeter Chiefs in the PREM Rugby Cup semi-final before heading back into the Gallagher PREM and maintaining their place at the top of the league table – securing back-to-back wins against first Newcastle Red Bulls (28-27) at home and then against Saracens in a thrilling encounter at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (17-21).

With those clashes in mind, Saints’ coaches have selected four nominees for the monthly award: Tom Litchfield, Archie McParland, Tom Pearson and James Ramm.

Litchfield has enjoyed a stellar month in Black, Green and Gold, featuring in all three clashes and scoring a try in each – while also making a whopping 221 metres in 32 carries, and producing the all-important assist for the match-winning try against Saracens and scoring the final try himself against Newcastle.

The scorer of that try against Saracens is our next nominee; like Litchfield, McParland featured in all three matches and scored three tries, crossing against Newcastle before claiming a brace at Tottenham. The scrum-half impressed across the park in March, making 21 carries and 106 metres while also earning Saints six turnovers.

Despite featuring in just two of Northampton’s clashes last month, Pearson’s impact was marked. The back rower started against both Newcastle and Saracens, making 45 metres from 20 carries and completing a whopping 28 tackles across those games, on his way to claim the Player of the Match award at Tottenham.

Our final nominee, Ramm, played in all three of Saints’ clashes in March, impressing on both sides of the ball as he made some 22 tackles as well as 92 metres in 24 carries.
