Wanderers name side for Tigers derby at the Gardens

Northampton Wanderers have made six changes to their line-up as they bid to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the Premiership Rugby Shield on Saturday.

East Midlands rivals Leicester Tigers are the visitors at Franklin’s Gardens, with the men in Black, Green and Gold hoping to book their spot in the final four of the competition for the fourth straight season.

Following an impressive six-try 40-36 victory over Northern Conference leaders Newcastle Falcons last time out, Northampton need just one league point from the match to guarantee their progress.

Ken Pisi and Connor Tupai both come into the back-line for Wandies, while Andrew Kellaway – a hat-trick hero against Newcastle – is once again named in the midfield alongside Fraser Strachan.

Fly-half James Grayson skippers the side for the third straight match, but coaches Simon Sinclair and Mark Hopley have shuffled their pack with Toby Trinder, Karl Garside, and Lewis Bean all coming into the tight five and Alex Coles starting at lock.
