Six Loughborough Lightning players have been selected in the England U20 matchday squad to face Italy on Friday 11 July.
England got off to a winning start with 31-17 victory over Scotland last weekend, and return to CCB Centre for Sporting Excellence in Caerphilly for their second fixture, that kicks off at 1pm and will be streamed live on the Six Nations U20 YouTube channel.
Lucy Calladine, who featured from the bench in Round 1, captains as the starting hooker with her club-mates Keevy Fitzpatrick and Haineala Lutui making their debuts at this level at second row and No.8, respectively.
Carmela Morrall earns her sixth U20 cap at inside centre, while loosehead prop Amelia Williams and versatile back Lia Green are named among the replacements having both started against Scotland.
Head Coach LJ Lewis said: “Our performance against Scotland ended in a pleasing result yet left us with areas to refine as we continue our challenging schedule.
“Our players showcased winning moments throughout Saturday’s fixture, exploiting space with speed and earning an impressive result to kickstart our journey over the next two weeks.
“This week, we want to speed up our connectivity and transitional skills with a refreshed side against another stern test in Italy.”
