Loughborough Lightning’s Krissy Scurfield has been selected in the Canada side for their Pacific Four Series decider against Australia.
The 21-year-old winger, who scored 14 tries in 12 appearances in her debut Premiership Women’s Rugby season for Lightning before re-signing for the 2025/26 season, has been picked on the left wing for the Suncorp Stadium showdown on Friday 23 May (kick-off: 7.55am, UK time).
Scurfield returned to the Canada 15-a-side set-up after a few years away on the Sevens circuit to earn her fifth cap in the Round 1 victory over the USA, which Canada won with a bonus point.
She missed out on the 27-27 draw with New Zealand, but returns for the trip to Brisbane as Canada seek to earn the bonus point win that will keep them in contention for the Pacific Four Series title – with Australia and New Zealand (who face USA on 24 May) also still in the running.
Joining Scurfield in the starting line-up is Courtney O’Donnelly (nee Holtkamp) who impressed on a short-term loan spell at Lighting in the second half of the 2024/25 season.
