Northampton Saints vs Exeter Chiefs

Freeman scores in the corner but unfortunately it is chalked off as Graham as there was a dangerous ruck clear out earlier in the move. 

Clever play from Mitchell sees the scrum-half kick from a ruck 45 metres out into the Exeter 22. The lineout was massively overthrown, Freeman pounces to steal!

There's a nervy moment for Saints as Slade's grubber deep into the 22 was well fielded by Seabrook, but Exeter are too keen and give away a penalty at the breakdown. Smith clears up to the ten-metre line.

The gamble hasn't paid off as the lineout ball is spilled. Exeter are in possession inside their own 22 and Graham concedes a penalty. 

Saints turn down three points and go to the corner.

Skinner gets the second half underway, Saints are attacking towards the Barwell Stand.

Saints survive the scrum, Exeter go wide and Hutchinson gets over the breakdown to win a penalty! Saints kick into the and commence the maul, but Exeter defend it well and play will restart with an Exeter scrum.

Mitchell's box kick from a ruck is touched in flight and it works out well for Smith who catches on the Exeter ten-metre line. Freeman is in support on the right wing but the pass isn't made. Smith knocks on and then Saints are penalised for not releasing. Skinner to clear from 15 metres inside his own half.

Freeman carries a ball back from deep and Saints work the ball wide but Skinner gathers a kick ahead well to kick from his own 22 and into touch inside the Saints' half.

A spell of Exeter pressure from the kick-off ends as Slade knocks on in the Saints' 22, and in a central position. 

Saints survive the first scrum and Saints go wide through Mitchell's pass to Seabrook. Exeter once more go off their feet, Smith kicks to five metres out...

Hendy makes a brilliant break returning a long kick and strides through a hole, offloading out of the tackle as Saints swarm. Exeter give away a penalty and Smith is having a shot at goal.

Seabrook takes a high ball well but Exeter wrestle the ball back and clear into Saints'22. Freeman and Hendy combine well and Mitchell clears to touch on halfway.

Cairns clears from a ruck in his own 22 up to the 10-metre line, where Saints will throw in.

Smith's penalty effort from distance strikes the left post. Exeter scramble well and clear up to near halfway where Hendy returns with interest.
