Northampton Saints vs Gloucester Rugby

Penalty Gloucester as Saints are pinged for a high tackle and Twelvetrees points to the posts with the last play of the game. 

Short at the lineout and Taylor is steaming forwards quickly. Saints push forwards again before Furbank chips over the top. The ball comes loose off Gloucester hands but it's backwards and they play on. 

A good shove from Saints again at the scrum but Heinz manages to fish the ball out and dinks through to touch. Lineout Saints in their own 22. 

Free kick Gloucester at the scrum and Gloucester choose to scrum again.

Hutchinson comes forwards off the lineout but knocks on in contact and Gloucester will have the scrum. 

Harrison is up for the lineout but the ball is scrappy after that and Atkinson gathers and clears to touch. Lineout Saints. 

Furbank sends a cross field over for Francis to chase and Moyle just gets there first. Heinz boxes high again and this one finds touch. Lineout Saints just outside Gloucester's 22. 

Good lineout from Saints but the resulting maul comes down and Gloucester come away with the ball. Heinz boxes high and Dingwall is under it.

Furbank chips over for Hutchinson to chase on the restart. The centre gathers well and Saints earn a penalty there too. Hutchinson sends the penalty into the corner. 

Harrison is up for the lineout and Naiyaravoro is set free. Still Saints come. 

Saints earn a penalty at the scrum and Htuchinson sends the ball into the corner. 

The ball finds Gloucester hands as it comes wide but they're pinged for a forward pass and Saints will have the scrum. 

Wood gets up to steal the lineout for Saints and they push on again. 

Hutchinson charges forwards out wide and has Freeman on his shoulder but the winger is pushed into touch. Lineout Gloucester in their own 22. 

Saints maul forwards before Taylor charges forwards. Dingwall – who replaced Proctor as we set the lineout – charges up and Saints press on again. 

Solid scrum from Saints and Heinz is under pressure to clear, his kick heads straight out and Saints will have the lineout just outside Gloucester's 22. 

Short at the lineout to Harrison and Saints push forwards but they knock the ball on there. Scrum Gloucester.

Hutchinson sends the resulting penalty into the corner for a lineout on Gloucester's 22. 

Furbank pushes forwards off the lineout and Saints press on now in Gloucester's half. The ball comes wide to Naiyaravoro but there's a Gloucester hand in there as the ball comes forwards and we're with the TMO to check if it's a deliberate knock on.

Adendorff replaces Ludlam as we set the lineout. 

Hutchinson sends the ball into touch for a lineout on Gloucester's 22. 

No conversion from Twelvetrees again and we restart with a penalty to Saints as Carreras started the ruckus that followed the try. 

Gloucester think they've scored through Rees-Zammit again and we're with the TMO to check.

Saints push forwards on halfway but Gloucester turn the ball over there. They play on.

Ribbans is up for the lineout and Saints push on again. 

Gloucester look to maul but Saints hold them well and Gloucester's backs are forced into the game. They knock the ball on though and Taylor comes forwards with it. Gloucester are found offside and Furbank sends it to touch for a lineout on halfway. 

Taylor places James as we set the lineout.

The ball comes back inside to Freeman but Gloucester get over the ball at the breakdown and earn the penalty. Twelvetrees sends it to the corner. 

Heinz boxes high from the restart and Freeman gets under it. Saints push on through Naiyaravoro out wide. They're over the halfway line now and pushing.

Moon replaces Ratuniyarawa as we restart.

Wide with the conversion from Twelvetrees and Furbank gets us restarted. 

Solid at the scrum and Gloucester manage to get the ball away. Saints get over the ball as it comes wide but the penalty goes Gloucester's way and Twelvetrees sends the ball into the corner. 

Not straight at the lineout from Saints and Gloucester will have the scrum. 

Heinz boxes clear from the restart and Saints will have the lineout on halfway. 

Front row changes for Saints; Waller, Matavesi and Hill all make way, with Auterac, Fish and Painter entering the game. 

Penalty Gloucester at the scrum and Twelvetrees points to the posts. 

Heinz clears and Freeman is back for it. He sends it back to Ackermann and he comes forwards. Heinz sends the ball skyward again a phase later and Furbank is under it. But as the ball comes to Naiyaravoro the referee spots a knock on and it'll be a Gloucester scrum. 

Twelvetrees sends the conversion wide right and Furbank restarts things here. 

An awkward bounce of the ball finds Reid's hands instead of Proctor's and the away side push on again. 

Atkinson dinks through into space but Naiyaravoro is back for it and Ribbans pushes Saints forwards before James sends it back to Furbank to clear.

Solid at the scrum from Saints but Gloucester manage to keep it. Ackerman charges up off the back of it and the away side push on halfway now. 

Francis comes forwards off the lineout for Saints but he's held up by Gloucester's forwards and they will have the out in at the scrum. 

Ackermann comes forwards off the lineout and Heinz clears to touch. Lineout Saints just outside Gloucester's 22. 

Rees-Zammit comes forwards but Francis turns the ball over and Saints charge forwards. They're up to Gloucester's 22 now and pushing. Hutchinson sends a dink through for Naiyaravoro to chase but the ball just finds touch before the winger can get to it. Lineout Gloucester in their own 22. 

Strong defence from Saints and they push Gloucester back outside the 22 and Saints turn the ball over there. Furbank chips through in behind Gloucester's line. 

Overthrown at the lineout by Gloucester but Atkinson is there. They push in Saints' 22 now. 

Saints come away with the ball at the scrum but referee Ian Tempest awards Gloucester the penalty. Twelvetrees sends the ball into touch for a lineout in Saints' half. 

The wind carries Furbank's restart straight out and Gloucester will have the scrum on halfway. 

Furbank gets thing restarted here at Franklin's Gardens. 

Another scrappy lineout for Saints and Reid pushes Gloucester over the halfway line but knocks on there and Saints will have the scrum. 

Francis misses touch with the penalty and Gloucester return with interest. Lineout Saints back on halfway. 

Strong shove at the scrum from Saints and James comes forwards off the back of it to get Saints over the halfway line. Saints are pinged there and Gloucester take it quickly but Harrison is quickly over the ball and earns Saints a penalty of their own. 

Saints' pressure eventually pays off as Gloucester knock the ball on. Scrum Saints. 

Ribbans disrupts the lineout and though is comes down on Gloucester's side, Saints defend hard and push the away side back out of their 22. 

Penalty Gloucester at the breakdown and Twelvetrees sends the ball into touch for a lineout on Saints' 22. 

Ribbans takes this lineout cleanly and Saints maul forwards well before James sends the ball skyward. Saints chase hard but Carreras takes the high ball and Gloucester push on again. 

Harrison comes forwards from the base of the scrum and Saints quickly earn a penalty at the next breakdown too. Francis sends the ball into touch for a lineout back near halfway. 

Alemanno comes forwards but he knocks on in contact as Ratuniyarawa takes him down. Scrum Saints. 

Gloucester maul forwards from the lineout but Saints hold them and Heinz has to get the ball out to the midfield. Gloucester push forwards towards the five metre line now. 

Overthrown at the lineout from Gloucester but Saints are penalised for being offside as they gather the loose ball. Twelvetrees sends the ball into the corner again.

Solid at this scrum and Ackermann uses the ball quickly. Carreras loses the ball forwards and Saints chip through in behind Gloucester's line. The away side chase back and Heinz boxes clear. Furbank is there and he finds Proctor to get things back over the halfway line. And the penalty goes Saints' way at the breakdown there too. Scrappy at the lineout again as the ball comes down on Gloucester's side. Twelvetrees clears and the ball comes forwards off Saints hands as it comes down. Scrum Gloucester. 

Wide from Twelvetrees with the long kick from the tee and Saints clear. Moyle returns the ball Saints' way and Furbank charges forwards up to the halfway line. James chips the ball over the top and though Carreras is there, he's under pressure as he clears to touch. Lineout Saints on Gloucester's 22. 

Twelvetrees points to the posts with the resulting penalty. 

Some aerial tennis ensues and it's Gloucester who choose to come forwards first. They push up to the halfway line before Twelvetrees sends it high again. Naiyaravoro is under it but we come back to a Gloucester penalty as Saints are found offside. 

Heinz sends the ball high off the restarting scrum and Freeman gets under it. He sends it back Gloucester's way and Moyle sends it high after he's gathered it. Saints push forwards on halfway before James boxes the ball high. Carreras is under it but he's taken down by Ribbans quickly. 

Biggar's back on his feet and he's off for a HIA and Naiyaravoro has entered the game in his place. 

A nasty collision between Biggar and Twelvetrees off the back of the lineout and we pause the game while the Saints fly-half is assessed. 

Penalty Saints as Gloucester are found offside and Biggar sends the ball into touch for a lineout in Gloucester's 22. 

Scrappy at the lineout and Gloucester come away with the ball. Heinz sends it high and Freeman is under it. Saints play on again. 

Biggar sends the ball high and Carreras marks it. He sends the ball into touch for a Saints lineout back near halfway. 

Heinz takes the restart and is under pressure from Freeman, he clears but doesn't find touch. Furbank gathers and Saints push forwards on halfway now. 

Gloucester use the ball quickly at this lineout and push into Saints' half quickly. 

Free kick Saints at the scrum and Biggar sends it downfield into touch. Lineout Gloucester back near halfway. 

Gloucester maul forwards but Saints hold them and push them back, Wood working hard to earn Saints the put in at the scrum as it comes down. 

Twelvetrees chips through and Furbank is there to gather but he's pushed into touch there and Gloucester will have the lineout in Saints' 22. 

Ribbans disrupts the lineout but the ball comes down on Gloucester's side and they play on again. 

James turns the ball over there though and Ludlam pushes forwards before the scrum-half clears. Moyle is there to claim it and Rees-Zammit returns it Saints' way. Hill and Wood get Saints moving but the home side are penalised at the breakdown and Twelvetrees sends the penalty to the corner. 

Overthrow at the lineout from Gloucester but the ball comes forwards off Saints hands as it goes loose and Gloucester play on in Saints' 22 now.

Gloucester mail from the lineout and have a penalty coming from the maul too. Twelvetrees sends the ball into touch for a lineout inside Saints' 22.

Ribbans takes the ball to Gloucester's defensive line and Saints push up to halfway before Biggar dinks through to touch. Lineout Gloucester back near their own 22. 

Matavesi finds Ludlam in the lineout and James darts forwards off the back of the resulting maul. Saints push into Gloucester's 22 but the ball comes forwards there and Rees-Zammit sends it downfield. 

Biggar sends the restart deep and Chapman clears after Slater claims it. James takes the high ball and Saints earn a penalty at the breakdown there as Gloucester fail to roll away. Biggar sends the penalty into the corner. 

Ackermann pushes forwards off the back of the scrum and Gloucester push but Saints' defence pushes them back to the halfway line and the ball comes back to Twelvetrees to clear. Furbank claims the high ball but we come back to a penalty for Gloucester just before the kick. Twelvetrees points to the posts.

Ribbans takes the kick-off and Saints maul forwards before James sets Matavesi loose. The hooker charges forwards before James boxes high. It's scrappy as the ball comes down though and we'll restart with a Gloucester scrum.
