Access to Franklin’s Gardens during Barwell Stand development

Travis PerkinsSponsored by Travis Perkins

Tuesday is when Buckingham Group take over the north end of the stadium to turn the Sturtridge Pavilion into the all-new Barwell Stand.

The Sturtridge Pavilion has been overlooking the Franklin’s Gardens pitch for the best part of 50 years. But over the next few months it will be replaced by a development that will maintain Franklin’s Gardens’ place as the envy of rugby clubs across the country, with the Barwell Stand taking the capacity up to approximately 15,500 and including all of the modern facilities expected of a 21st-century stadium.

From Tuesday, May 26th onwards all access to Franklin’s Gardens will be via Car Park A, which can be reached via the entrance at the end of Abbey Street. This includes staff, players, deliveries and the general public, with pedestrian and vehicular access all coming from the same end. Any taxi drops and collections must use the same car park. Pedestrian access to the Saints Superstore must be from Weedon Road.

No unauthorised vehicles will be allowed in the Weedon Road car park, which is being used by Buckingham Group as their base during the development, and all cars must be removed from this car park before the handover. The entrance gate to the Weedon Road car park will be locked and manned during this period, which will last until further notice.

A downloadable map and full instructions is available on the Northampton Saints website, along with the latest updates from the build itself. Head to www.northamptonsaints.co.uk/barwellstand for all the information!

The Northampton Saints management thanks all supporters and the general public for their patience and understanding during the development.
