Education programmes boosted by generous Wilson Foundation grant

Northampton Saints’ education programmes are set to go from strength to strength next academic year following the receipt of a £15,000 grant from the Wilson Foundation.

The programmes – which are delivered jointly by Saints’ Foundation and Community teams in Northamptonshire schools – use the power of sport and rugby's values to provide inclusive and differentiated theory and practical-based sessions.

Primary schools across Northamptonshire can now get in touch to reserve a Tackling Character, Tackling Health or Tackling Numeracy programme at 50% off the usual cost, available from September 2020.

The three programmes, developed by Premiership Rugby, aim to support delivery of the school curriculum and are made up of one classroom-based and one practical session per week.

They are linked to the interactive cross curriculum-based digital Premiership Rugby Champions app (available now on iOS and Android), which is supported by the CVC Foundation and BT Supporter Club, and developed with expert learning technology company, Aspire 2Be, to inspire primary school children to get moving whilst developing important life skills.

Each package lasts for five weeks with Saints’ Education department and Community staff delivering within your setting. For more information on each programme, please CLICK HERE.

“We are delighted to be supported by the Wilson Foundation. Their substantial grant will allow our Education team to deliver vital wellbeing information to many key stage two pupils across Northamptonshire.”

Catherine Deans, Managing Director at Saints Foundation

To find out more or to book your part-funded programme, contact us at [email protected]. Further programmes can be added to your booking, either concurrently or throughout the academic year. Each funded programme, covering two classes, costs £500 – further programmes are £1000.

* One funded programme per primary school. Booking essential and only available September to December 2020 in the first instance. We will book dates but be flexible if Covid-19 restrictions limit school attendance or our ability to deliver.

** Greggs Breakfast Club schools can receive Tackling Health free of charge, if they have not already accessed this, as part of the Premiership Rugby Greggs Foundation partnership.
